Seattle Receives First Big Snowfall in Nearly Two Years (PHOTOS)

Seattle's metro area reported snow accumulations for the first time this season, ushering in winter conditions that rarely made an appearance over the last 24 months.
"Seattle averages about six inches of snow each season," said weather.com meteorologist Chris Dolce. "However, significant snow isn't guaranteed each winter as we saw last season, when just over a half inch of snow was recorded. The last major snowstorm to strike Seattle was in January 2012 when 9.6 inches was measured over four days."
Seattle's suburb of Kirkland received three inches of snow before Friday morning's rush-hour commute, according to local reports. North of Seattle, nearly four inches of snow have been reported near the town of Arlington.
Below is a rundown of images and comments from some of the locals who welcomed the snowfall after a long drought.
