Canceled or postponed events and school closings

School Districts

-Greencastle-Antrim School District is closed.

On two-hour delays:

-According to Chambersburg Area School District spokesperson Tammy Stouffer, there will be a two hour delay for schools in the Chambersburg Area School District on Monday morning.

-Shalom Christian Academy will be on a two hour delay on Monday with preschool on a modified schedule from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

-Shippensburg Area School District, Tuscarora School District and Waynesboro Area School District will also have two hour delays with modified kindergarten schedules.

-Fannett-Metal School District.

-Cumberland Valley Christian School

-Grace Academy in Hagerstown, Md.

-Montessori Academy of Chambersburg. School will open at 10:30 am and begin classes at 10:45. There will be no school for AM only students. AM excel is closed for Monday, Dec. 9th. All busses will be picking up students two hours late, regardless of district.

Colleges

- Wilson College: "Today, Monday, Dec. 9, is a reading day, therefore, there are no classes scheduled during the day but evening classes will be held. Due to inclement weather, Wilson is operating on a two-hour delay with liberal leave status, which means non-essential employees can decide to come to work or take a vacation or personal day."

- Penn State Mont Alto: "Classes are delayed and we are running on a compressed schedule today. Classes will begin at 10AM. Essential employees should report to work at their regular time and all other employees should report at 10AM."

Other

- Franklin County Library System: "FCLS libraries will not open until at least 11:00 today. Please note that some do not open until even later according to their Monday schedule, but those that normally open at 9:00 will delay 2 hours."

-Mercersburg Area Community Chorus concert scheduled for 3:00pm at the Mercersburg Academy Chapel

-Service at Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church in Shippensburg

-Activities at Waynesboro VFW Post 695

-Bingo at Blue Ridge Fire & Rescue
