Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter Delayed Due To Nintendo Network Outage

"We apologize for the delay and thank you for your continued patience."

The Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter app services, which were supposed to be released today, Dec. 27, have been delayed due to the problems that Nintendo's online network services and eShop had over the Christmas holidays. The problem was caused when more gamers than Nintendo anticipated tried to use their online services to link their Nintendo Network ID with a Nintendo 3DS/2DS.
Unfortunately, during the outage folks had trouble acessing the eShop for Wii U and 3DS, purchasing and downloading content, and creating or editing a Nintendo Network ID. The service has since been restored for many gamers around the world, but regarding the Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter, Nintendo only said that it's not coming today and that they, "Apologize for the delay and thank you for your continued patience."
The Pokemon Bank is an online subscription service that costs $5 US and allows Pokemon trainers to store and manage their critters in online boxes. Players can store up to 3,000 Pokemon in 100 boxes using the Bank and can use the Poke Transporter app service to import Pokemon from Pokemon Black VersionPokemon White Version,Pokemon Black Version 2, and Pokemon White Version 2 to Pokemon X and Y.
When the service does launch, don't forget that Nintendo previously announced that they'll be giving away the adorable Pokemon Celebi to anyone who accesses the Pokemon Bank before September 30, 2014.
We'll let you know when Nintendo gives us access to the bank, so keep it locked to IGN. Have you experienced any issues during Nintendo's network outage? Let us know in the comments.
