The "Fast & Furious" franchise just found an extra gear.
Universal debuted the first trailer for "Fast & Furious 6" during Super Bowl XLVII, and judging by the half-minute of footage, Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto and Paul Walker's Brian O'Conner still haven't figured out how to hit the brakes.
This time around, the gang is enlisted to help the U.S. government take on villains with some fast cars of their own - and a tank.
"We've graduated to a whole new level," says Dwayne Johnson's federal module, who has seemingly found working with the former car thieves easier than trying to chase them.
They also have graduated to a whole new strata of special effects budget: This time around, the drivers manage to bring down a cargo plane.
Back for another lap is the whole crew, including Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gison, Ludacris and surprise returnee Michelle Rodriguez, whose Letty was seemingly bumped off two films ago.
"Do you believe in ghosts?" she asks Toretto.
"Fast & Furious 6" peels into theaters on May 24.
