49ers' 2014 schedule features road game against Oakland Raiders
The 49ers will begin playing home games in a new, $1 billion stadium next year, but perhaps as anticipated in 2014 will be a trip across the Bay to play the Raiders.
San Francisco's schedule features a road game in Oakland as well as a home game at Levi's Stadium against former 49ers quarterback Alex Smith and the Kansas City Chiefs.
The NFL on Monday released the list of 2014 opponents, though playing dates and times won't be announced until the spring.
In addition to their customary home-and-away games against NFC West opponents Seattle, St. Louis and Arizona, the 49ers will play four games against both the AFC West (Raiders, Broncos on road, Chiefs and Chargers at home) and the NFC East (home against Eagles, Redskins and home against Cowboys and Giants). As per the NFL's criteria, the 49ers schedule also includes two two intra-conference games against teams that also finished in second place -- a home game against the Bears and a road game at the Saints.
Here's what's in store for the 49ers next season:
Home: Arizona Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers
Away: Arizona Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, Denver Broncos, Raiders
