Lisa Robin Kelly died of multiple drug intoxication
USA TODAY - A drug overdose claimed another Hollywood life, according to reports on multiple celebrity gossip sites today.
Lisa Robin Kelly died accidentally of multiple drug intoxication, the Los Angeles County coroner's office ruled. The former star of That '70s Show was 43 and died in her sleep at a rehab facility in August.
Kelly played a bad-girl character, Laurie Forman, on the Fox sitcom, which aired 1998-2006. In real life, she had big problems.
Besides her substance addictions, she had been arrested several times in recent years on suspicion of drunk driving, assault and alleged domestic abuse.
She checked herself into a rehab facility in California and seemed to be doing well, according to her agent. "She was hopeful and confident, looking forward to putting this part of her life behind her," Craig Wycoff said in a statement at the time.
Initial speculation that the actress had died of an embolism was not borne out. A full autopsy report, including the identity of the drugs found in her system, is expected in a few weeks.
